On May 28, Chinese Ambassador to Algeria, Mr. Dong Guangli, visited the company’s LNG storage tank project site in Algeria. He was accompanied by SONATRACH Project Manager Mr. Debbou, GL1K Plant Director Mr. Abdelhalim, and the company’s Project Manager Mr. Wang Zuowei, among other personnel.

During the visit, Ambassador Dong expressed recognition for Sinopec’s comprehensive design capabilities and project execution performance. He fully affirmed the achievements of the LNG storage tank project and congratulated Sinopec on its engineering accomplishments in Algeria. Ambassador Dong emphasized that the LNG storage tank project stands as a new milestone in Algeria’s modernization and a testament to the traditional friendship between China and Algeria. He strongly recommended Chinese enterprises such as Sinopec to the project owner, expressing hope that both nations would deepen and expand cooperation in energy infrastructure, including petrochemicals and oil and gas recovery.

Ambassador Dong concluded by stating that the Chinese Embassy in Algeria will continue to provide firm support and protection for Chinese enterprises. The Embassy will actively coordinate resources to safeguard the healthy development of Chinese companies in Algeria. He also highlighted the importance of enhancing cultural exchange between Chinese and Algerian employees, fostering team cohesion, and continuing to drive the project toward even greater success—contributing to the strengthening of China-Algeria friendship and cooperation.
