On May 6, Mr. Rachid Hachichi, President of Algeria’s national oil company SONATRACH, visited the LNG project site for inspection and guidance. He was accompanied by SONATRACH’s Vice President, the General Manager of EPM, the Director of the GL1K refinery, local government officials, military representatives, and members of the media.

During the inspection, the EPM General Manager and the Project Manager reported on the project’s progress. This marked Mr. Hachichi’s third visit to the site in less than a year. He highly commended Sinopec Luoyang Engineering Co., Ltd for its achievements in the previous phase and emphasized the LNG storage tank project’s national significance as a strategic priority for Algeria. As the project enters its critical final stage, he urged the project team to continue demonstrating a strong, battle-ready spirit—overcoming challenges such as delayed material deliveries and limited manpower—and to keep advancing based on the progress already made, ensuring the project is successfully commissioned before the end of 2025.
