The company held the 2025 Scientific and Technological Progress and Informatization Work Conference on March 6, calling on all employees to be the first to innovate, overcome difficulties, strive to serve as the national strategic scientific and technological force, and build a new engine for the company’s high-quality development with scientific and technological progress and digital and intelligent transformation, and the company aims to create a new engine for high-quality development and make new and greater contributions to building a world-class technology-leading energy and chemical engineering company.

At the meeting, Zhang Fan, the Vice President and Chief Engineer of the company, respectively delivered a scientific and technological progress work report entitled “Focusing on scientific and technological innovation, deepening the integration of four chains, developing new quality productivity, comprehensively promoting the company’s scientific and technological progress to a new level” and an information and digitization work report entitled “setting the goals towards intelligence and empowering the company’s high quality development with digital intelligence”, comprehensively summarized the company’s scientific and technological innovation and informatization work in 2024 and made systematical arrangements and deployments for key tasks in 2025; Yang Hongbin, the deputy secretary of the company’s party committee, read out the relevant commendation decision and commended the advanced workers of the company’s 2024 Science and Technology Progress Award, and Excellent Technical Standards Award, as well as in Scientific and Technological Progress, and the advanced workers of the award-winning projects of the Third Science and Technology Innovation and Creativity Competition, the Outstanding Computer Software Development and Application Achievement Award, and the informatization construction.

In his concluding speech, Han Weiguo, the Executive Director and party secretary of the company, pointed out that currently, the global energy and chemical industry is undergoing profound changes, with carbon neutrality goals accelerating technological iteration, the new materials revolution reshaping the industrial chain, and the wave of digitalization subverting traditional production models. As the “national team” in the field of petrochemical engineering and the main engineering company under Sinopec, we must proactively embrace change and lead innovation with a sense of urgency that time waits for no one and a sense of mission, and put forward three requirements for doing a good job in scientific and technological progress: first, seize the industry trends, clarify the main direction, and persist in carrying out scientific and technological innovation; second, deepen the reform of scientific and technological innovation systems and mechanisms, and continue to release innovation momentum; third, deepen the integration of the four chains and promote high-level industrialization. He emphasized that first, the company must deepen the application of the company’s four major information platforms, continue to carry out digital intelligence improvement actions, accelerate data governance, and build a high-quality data base; second, use projects as a carrier to accelerate the deep integration of new generation of information technology and the lifecycle of project management, and promote the planning and construction of smart factories; third, focus on artificial intelligence applications, implement central enterprises “AI+” special actions, and create demonstration projects to lead the future.
