Pneumatic Jacking of Algerian LNG Storage Tank Project Was Successfully Completed

The dome pneumatic jacking operation of the Algerian LNG storage tank project, which was under EPC contracting by the company, was successfully completed on February 25, marking a milestone and laying a solid foundation for the subsequent construction of the project.

The dome pneumatic jacking operation is one of the most complex, difficult and risky project milestones in LNG storage tank construction. The tank dome jacked this time weighs 1004 tons and has a structural diameter span of 82 meters, posing a huge technical challenge. At 8:00 a.m. local time, after completing various safety inspections and equipment debugging, with the command of the commander-in-chief, the on-site blower was started, and the pneumatic jacking formally began. The steel dome slowly rose. At 11:30 a.m., the steel dome was steadily lifted to an altitude of 35.8 meters, perfectly closed and connected with the pressure bearing ring, and the pneumatic jacking operation was completed in one go.

Wang Xiaowei, the Vice President of the company, along with the leaders and representatives from relevant government agencies such as the Client SONATRACH, SKIKDA Industrial Park DR1K and GL1K factories, ARH, CTC, etc., and the project team, witnessed the smooth completion of the pneumatic jacking operation. Debbou, the project manager of the Client SONATRACH, and Abdelhalim, the director of the end user GL1K, extended sincere congratulations to the Chinese side for achieving the milestone goals as planned, fully recognized the project execution capabilities of Sinopec and were full of confidence in the smooth completion and delivery of the LNG storage tank project.
