The 150 t/a magnesium hydride pilot test project of the Yulin Innovation Institute, for which the company undertook engineering design, produced qualified magnesium hydride products on January 10, becoming the world’s largest 100-ton magnesium hydride production line, and marking a major breakthrough in China’s hydrogen energy storage and transportation technology and key material preparation.
The project is jointly invested and constructed by Dalian Fude Jinyu New Energy Co., Ltd. and Yulin Zhongke Clean Energy Innovation Research Institute. It adopts a new process technology on magnesium-based solid hydrogen storage material preparation developed by Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, to develop new magnesium-based solid hydrogen storage equipment and systems.
As a hydrogen storage material with great application prospects, magnesium hydride has the characteristics of high hydrogen storage capacity, safety, environmental protection and recyclability. It can be used in aerospace, battery manufacturing, medicine and other fields.
