The coke tower of the 1.6 million t/a delayed coking unit of HAPCO Fine Chemical and Raw Materials Engineering Project, which was under EPC contracting by the company, was successfully hoisted and positioned on January 5, laying a solid foundation for the overall progress target of the unit, namely, the intermediate handover by October 30th.
Two coke towers (1060-R-01A/B) were hoisted in place this time. The single shell has a diameter of 9.8 meters and a length of 48 meters and the single tower weighs 452 tons, making it the largest coke tower in China at present. During the operation, a 1350-ton main crawler crane was used for hoisting. The project team gave full play to its overall coordination function. China Petroleum First Construction Corporation and the Sinopec Tenth Construction Company carefully planned and worked together to successfully complete the hoisting in 2 hours and 41 minutes and 2 hours and 2 minutes respectively.
