"Development of Technology to Prevent Wind-Induced Vibration Failure in Tall Towers" Project Passes Appraisal

On December 17, the company-led project on the "Development of Technology to Prevent Wind-Induced Vibration Failure in Tall Towers" successfully passed the technical appraisal organized by the Group’s Science and Technology Department. The expert appraisal committee unanimously agreed that the technology has reached a leading level in China and recommended it for wider application.

This technology establishes a complete design methodology for crosswind vibration fatigue assessment throughout the entire lifecycle of tall towers, filling a gap in the industry. It provides a solid theoretical basis for the design and safety evaluation of wind-induced vibration in tall towers. Additionally, the developed tuned mass damper is cost-effective, compact, easy to install, and has excellent vibration reduction effects, ensuring the safe and reliable long-term operation of tall towers under wind loads.

Since 2021, the technology has been demonstrated in projects such as Hainan Refining and Tianjin Nangang Ethylene. Despite multiple typhoons, these systems have operated smoothly without failure, meeting production requirements with high safety and reliability.
