On November 9, the Tianjin Petrochemical Nangang High-End New Materials Project, for which the company is the general contractor, successfully started up its cracked gasoline hydrogenation unit and butadiene extraction unit, producing qualified products. The concurrently constructed wastewater treatment plant received wastewater from upstream units such as ethylene, National IV, and high-density units. After treatment, all emission and reuse indicators met the required standards.
This project is a key national initiative under the "14th Five-Year Plan" and plays a crucial role in Tianjin’s strategic development as a national advanced manufacturing and research base. It is also an important part of Sinopec's world-class refining and chemical plant layout. Since construction began in March 2022, the company has not only been responsible for the design of the raw material and product tank farm units but has also undertaken the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) general contracting tasks for two major sections: the 150kta butadiene extraction unit, the 600kta cracked gasoline hydrogenation unit, and the wastewater treatment plant.
