On October 25, the newly expanded Chen Junwu Exhibition Room, showcasing the achievements of the role model, welcomed its first group of visitors. Over 60 participants from the intermediate training courses for catalytic cracking units of Sinopec, PetroChina, and CNOOC, among others, visited the exhibition. Led by the company’s volunteer guides, they deeply explored the advanced deeds of Academician Chen Junwu, gaining a close look at the patriotic, dedicated, and selfless spirit of older generations of scientists.
In response to higher management requirements from Sinopec and relevant provincial and municipal authorities, the company began the expansion and update of the Chen Junwu Exhibition Room in July 2024. The expanded exhibition room now covers more than 380 square meters and is divided into seven sections, excluding the preface and conclusion. The exhibition primarily focuses on the advanced contributions of Academician Chen Junwu, who has grown alongside the Republic and contributed tirelessly to the development of China’s petrochemical industry for over 70 years. The newly updated exhibition room features both physical displays and multimedia presentations, offering rich content on patriotic education.
To date, the exhibition room has hosted over 200 groups, with nearly 10,000 visitors, including party members and the general public, for on-site learning and various educational activities such as Public Open Days. More than 50,000 people have participated in these activities, both online and offline. The exhibition room has also earned several national and provincial honors, including recognition as a National Scientist Spirit Education Base and a Red Education Base of Sinopec, and has been included in the Consortium of National Museum for Modern Chinese Scientists.
