Students from Anhui Yexi Petrochemical Junior High School who paired up with the company for educational assistance ushered in a new semester on September 2. Han Weiguo, the executive director and party secretary of the company, taught the students “the first lesson of the semester” with the title of “being determined to become a talent”. During close classroom interactions with the on-site students, Han Weiguo not only made the students fully understand General Secretary Xi Jinping’s ardent instructions to teenagers, the Sinopec Party Group’s high attention to educational assistance in Yuexi County, as well as the basic situation of the company and the spirit of Academician Chen Junwu; moreover, it vividly demonstrated the limitations of cognition for students, and made students understand the necessity of learning China’s excellent traditional culture and the differences between Chinese and Western thoughts and cultures in a simple way. He encouraged students to be knowledgeable, diligent and ask more questions, further improve their learning abilities, truly learn happily and live a healthy life, grow into useful people to the country and society, become the best self, and actively contribute to national energy security.

The “First Lesson of the Semester” event was hosted by Li Yongjun, deputy county magistrate of Yuexi County. All teachers and students of Yexi Petrochemical Junior High School listened to the lesson through a combination of on-site attendance and live streaming. Before the lesson started, Han Weiguo and his delegation also visited the school teacher representatives, presenting them with a carefully prepared Teacher’s Day letters of condolence and gifts from the company, and extending advance wishes for a happy 40th Teacher’s Day to all the teachers at Yexi Petrochemical Junior High School.
