On July 18, the heavy hydrogenation reactor of Xintai Petrochemical Co., Ltd. in Zibo, 76 meters high with a weight of 2046 tons, was lifted to place, marking the start of the full peak construction period of the heavy oil hydrogenation project, for which GPEC undertakes the design. Zhang Fan, deputy general manager and chief engineer of GPEC, led a team to participate in the lifting ceremony.

The project is a key project in Zibo City, Shandong Province. It adopts the complete set of heavy oil hydrogenation technology jointly developed by GPEC and Sinopec (Dalian) Petrochemical Research Institute, with the equipment localization rate over 95%, and is an important move for Xintai Petrochemical to broaden raw material sources, enhance heavy oil processing capacity, extend the energy and chemical industry chain, and enter the field of high-end green new materials.
