On July 14, construction was started for the 800kt/a Olefin Project in Rongxing Chemical Co., Ltd. of Inner Mongolia in Dalad Economic Development Zone of Ordos, marking the official implementation of the important action that Shandong and Inner Mongolia jointly building a modern coal chemical industrial cluster and extending the industrial chain of “methanol – olefin – high-end new materials”. Li Wei, Party Committee secretary and chairman of Shandong Energy Group, announced the start of the project. He and the local government leaders Zhang Guangshou, deputy director of the Industry and Information Technology Department of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and Miao Chengyu, deputy mayor of Ordos City Government, jointly launched the construction of the 800kt/a olefin project. Han Weiguo, executive director and Party secretary of GPEC said on behalf of all participating entities that it will work with brother companies in resonance and coordination to build a high-quality project, laying a good foundation for the sustaining cooperation with Shandong Energy Group and Rongxing Company.

As informed, Rongxin Chemical Co., Ltd. of Inner Mongolia, affiliated to Yanzhou Coal Industry Ordos Chemical Co., Ltd. of Shandong Energy Group, has completed the 900kt/a coal to methanol project in phase I, and the 400kt/a coal to EG project as phase II. In the 800kt/a olefin project, GPEC will undertake the EPC construction task for plants such as 800kt/a DMTO-Ш of the project.
