On July 11, Yang Xudong, general manager and deputy Party secretary of GPEC, went to Yuexi County, Anhui Province to carry out investigation and study on rural revitalization, and donated 600,000 yuan as education pairing assistance to Yexi Petrochemical Junior High School, further demonstrating the social responsibilities of a central enterprise.

Accompanied by the relevant person in charge of Yuexi County, Yang Xudong and his team visited the campus of Yexi Petrochemical Junior High School, inspected on spot the use of the facilities donated by GPEC, participated in the donation ceremony of the 600,000 yuan fund, and gave “Petrochemical Sunrise” education award to excellent teachers. Yang Xudong said that GPEC will further learn from the successful experience of its brother companies, focus on the goal of “building a first-class campus of science and technology education” of Yexi Junior High School, and “well run a high-quality school at the doorstep of the people”; efforts will be made to build Yexi Junior High School into an education pairing assistance project of Sinopec with demonstration significance, as contribution from the petrochemical sector to realizing common prosperity.

During their stay in Yuexi County, Yang Xudong and his team also visited the “Yuexi Cuilan” tea industry demonstration project and the tea-PV complementary new energy project assisted by Sinopec.

As a pairing assisting entity of Yexi Petrochemical Junior High School, GPEC donated 500,000 yuan in 2023 for the renovation and construction of facilities such as teacher office computers, student dormitory beds and desks, and high-standard psychological counseling rooms. This year, many employees actively participated in the “assisting education with love” activity, and donated office computers, books and other things.
