On July 5, the subject led by GPEC “Localization development and application of high temperature and high pressure wear-resistant control ball valve” passed the appraisal organized by the Sinopec Science and Technology Department. The expert appraisal committee reached a unanimous conclusion that the results as a whole have reached the leading level in China, with remarkable economic benefits.

In this R&D subject, the HP floating ball valve YV-82028 is of top mounting structure, and can be used in high temperature and high pressure applications with alternating temperature, compared with the side-mounting product, it can reduce leaking risk and realize online maintenance; the side-mounted full-bore floating ball valve UZV-83003 is provided with flushing structure, and can be used under conditions where coking is likely to occur. The two prototypes developed are now used on the plant.

As informed, the products have demonstrated stable performance and operated well since their service on the 2.6mt/a residual oil hydrogenation plant of Zhenhai Refining and Chemical in May 2023, and compared with similar imported product, the price is about 30% lower and the procurement leading time can be reduced by about 50%.
