On June 18, the kick-off ceremony was held for the main plant of ChinaCoal Yulin Coal In-Depth Processing Base Project in Yuheng Industrial Park of Yulin City. Zhao Rongzhe, Standing Committee member of ChinaCoal Party Committee and Chief Accountant, was present at the ceremony and announced the official start of construction for the main plant of the project. Han Weiguo, executive director and Party Committee secretary, and responsible persons of the Market Department, Construction Management Department and Northwest Project Center of GPEC attended the ceremony.

This project is the first coal chemical project approved by the State Ministry of Ecology and Environment after China set the “peaking carbon emissions and achieving carbon neutrality” goals, and is an important support project for ChinaCoal to build a strategic base for comprehensive energy development in Inner Mongolia and Shaanxi. It mainly consists of a 220×10⁴t/a methanol plant and a 90×10⁴t/a polyolefin plant, and also the optimization and upgrading of existing Phase I coal chemical project by building 25×10⁴t/a LDPE/EVA chain extension and support projects. After the project is completed and put into operation in 2026, it will effectively promote the local economic and social development and booster the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure, and it will also provide about 10000 jobs during the peak period of construction.
