Recently, the third foundational design review meeting for the Maoming Petrochemical Refinery Transformation and Upgrading, and Ethylene Quality Improvement Project convened in Beijing. Units such as MTBE and wax oil hydroprocessing, which the company is responsible for, were thoroughly reviewed and approved during the headquarters' foundational design review.

This project encompasses two main components: refinery transformation and upgrading, and ethylene quality improvement, with a total investment exceeding 30 billion yuan. It represents a crucial initiative for Guangdong Province and Sinopec to embody the Spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, advance new industrialization, and foster high-end, intelligent, and green development in the manufacturing sector. Additionally, it stands as a cornerstone project for Maoming Petrochemical's fourth leap-forward development. The successful conclusion of this review meeting marks a significant milestone in the project's foundational design phase and paves the way for the comprehensive commencement of detailed design.

It's worth noting that the construction on the project commenced in November 2023. Once completed, it will annually produce a range of high-end synthetic materials and fine chemical industrial raw materials, including metallocene polyethylene, epoxy propane, ABS resin, and environmentally friendly rubber oil, thereby reducing reliance on imports and reinforcing the domestic industrial and supply chains.
