Environmental Impact Assessment Report for Jiujiang Project Passed the Review

On April 28, the Environmental Impact Assessment Report for the 1.5mt/a Aromatics and Refining Support Facilities Revamping Project of Sinopec Jiujiang Company, prepared by GPEC, passed the review successfully.

The technical assessment meeting was chaired by Jiujiang Ecological Environment Early Warning and Emergency Control Center, and present at the meeting were personnel of Jiujiang People's Government, Ecological Environment Bureau and other government departments, Xie Daoxiong, the Party Committee secretary of the plant as the representative of the owner entity Jiujiang Company, and relevant experts and representatives. As the assessment entity, GPEC had Zhang Fan, deputy general manager and chief engineer present at the meeting with a team.

The experts and representatives heard the presentation to the project by the owner entity and the presentation to the main contents of the report by the assessment entity. After discussion, they unanimously agreed that the report has been prepared in a standardized form and is comprehensive in content, and can be submitted for approval after modification and supplement. Considering the impact on the environment, the participants believed that the construction of the project is feasible under the premise of implementing the pollution prevention measures and environmental risk prevention measures proposed in the report and the opinions put forth at the review meeting, to ensure that various pollutants are discharged steadily to standard, the environmental risks can be controlled, and the requirements of the total control indicators are met.

As the EIA report of the project has smoothly passed the review, it has provided favorable conditions for setting the requirements of environmental protection design and measures in the basic design phase, and speeding up the progress of the project.
