On April 22, on the occasion of the 55th “World Earth Day”, GPEC organized public open day activities with the theme of “Helping the Global Anti-plastic Campaign and Endeavoring for a Better Life” at the Exhibition Hall for Model of the Times Chen Junwu together with the Luoyang Science and Technology Museum, a partner of joint Party building. More than 80 people, including teachers and students from Luoyang Jianxi District Experimental Primary School, staff of the Luoyang Science and Technology Museum, and representatives of media at various levels of the city, entered the Luoyang base of GPEC to explore smart energy and learn and promote the spirit of scientists.
Chang Guoxiang, Party committee secretary of the Luoyang base of GPEC, Huang Yanpei, vice chairman of the Luoyang Association for Science and Technology, and Du Yuanyuan, vice principal of Luoyang Jianxi District Experimental Primary School, delivered speeches in turn. All the participants watched the Sinopec full-industry chain popular science video The Secret of Petroleum together, learned the principles of oil extraction, refining and processing, and transportation and sales of oil products, and also acquired an in-depth understanding of the corporate spirit of Sinopec “Love China and Revitalize Petrochemicals” and the corporate mission of “Working Hard for a Better Life”.
Guided by GPEC's corporate culture lecturer, people entered the Exhibition Hall of the Model of the Times Chen Junwu to learn and feel the “patriotic, hard-working and dedicating” spirit of the model of the times Chen Junwu, as well as the spirit of scientists with “patriotic, innovative, pragmatic, dedicating, collaborative and educating” as the core. The children felt and listened attentively, and through pictures, medals and certificates, they experienced the touching deeds and noble spirit of Academician Chen Junwu. From time to time, they took out their watch phones to take photos, planting the seeds of serving the nation with science and technology in their hearts.
“By visiting and learning from the Exhibition Hall of the Model of the Times Chen Junwu, I feel deeply touched and full of admiration for this great scientist. In the future life and study, I will learn from Academician Chen Junwu, firm up my ideals and beliefs, be brave in hard working, and contribute to the country's development with practical actions in the future,” said Zhang Jiaxuan, a student from Class 5 (4) of Luoyang Jianxi District Experimental Primary School, excitedly.
On that day, more than 100 direct-affiliated enterprises of Sinopec opened their doors together to visitors.
