On June 30, the green power from the PV power station was supplied to workshops 3, 4 and 6 of the hydrogen production plant via a transmission line of 23.6 kilometers, and green hydrogen was produced and continuously entered the storage tank farm. This not only marked the completion of whole process of photovoltaic power generation and green hydrogen production with green power in Kuqa green hydrogen demonstration project in Xinjiang and its start of trial production phase, but has also provided an industrial model that can be reproduced and promoted for the development of the renewable energy hydrogen production industry in China.

The operation of the project will not only complete the long-term verification for the optimization of large-scale electrolytic hydrogen production process with PV power generation coupled with water electrolysis, and electrolytic cell – gas-liquid separation and hydrogen purification, and the industrial verification of flexible operation of gas-liquid separation and hydrogen purification with fluctuating load, the load self-adaptive adjustment of utilities, and continuous and stable hydrogen supply under flexible hydrogen production scenarios, but also accumulate precious experience for the full commercial application of the project.
