The LNG Project in Wenzhou Successfully Put into Service

On August 12, the first LNG vessel YARI from Indonesia completed the unloading of 154,000 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas safely and smoothly at the dock of Wenzhou LNG Terminal, marking the successful service of Wenzhou LNG Terminal, the first “turnkey project” of the Company as the EPCC contractor in China.

Wenzhou LNG Terminal is located in Xiaomen Island, Damen Town, Dongtou District of Wenzhou City, with a total investment of about 9 billion yuan. The project (Phase I) has a designed annual receiving capacity of 3 million tons, including 4 LNG storage tanks of 200,000 cu.m., a special dock that can berth LNG vessels of 80,000—266,000 cu.m., about 26 kilometers of conveying pipelines and corresponding support facilities.

Wenzhou LNG Terminal Project is jointly invested and developed with Zhejiang Energy and Natural Gas Group Corporation at the holding position, and Sinopec Natural Gas Branch Company and Wenzhou Damen and Xiaomen Island Investment and Development Company as participants. The construction of the project was started on December 20, 2020. The project consortium formed by our Company and the Tenth Construction Company overcame many difficulties in COVID-19 prevention and control and in natural environment, and completed all construction tasks in the scope of the project contract. After completion, the project will have a gas storage capacity of 480 million cu.m., as the only large-scale gas source in southern Zhejiang, it can not only make up for the shortage of gas supply in southern Zhejiang, but also help build and improve the natural gas transmission and distribution network in Zhejiang Province and surrounding regions, to expand the gas storage and peak regulation and supply capacity, and ensure the supply and demand balance and the gas supply security.
