On August 30, with the installation of the last PV panel to place, the 300MW PV power station of Kuqa Green Hydrogen Demonstration Project in Xinjiang was officially connected to the grid to generate power with full capacity. The continuous green power is converted into green hydrogen in the electrolytic water to hydrogen plant, and directly supplied to the hydrogen network of Tahe Refining and Chemical to substitute gray hydrogen. This marked the full completion and operation of Kuqa Green Hydrogen Demonstration Project in Xinjiang, constructed with the Company as the EPC contractor, opening up the new application scenario of the first 10,000-ton class green hydrogen refining and chemical industry in China.

In the project, the PV power station, electrolytic water to hydrogen production plant, green hydrogen storage and transport, utilities and support auxiliary production facilities were constructed. After its full operation, it can produce green hydrogen of 20,000 tons annually, and carbon dioxide emission can be reduced by 485,000 tons every year after it is used in Tahe Refining and Chemical Plant.

The completion and operation of the project has not only connected the whole process of PV power generation, green power transmission, green power hydrogen production, hydrogen storage and transport and green hydrogen application in refining for the first time, forming the complete set of large scale hydrogen production process and project from electrolysis of water with proprietary intellectual property rights, but also accumulated precious experience for the commercialized application of similar wind and PV green power to green hydrogen projects.
