Recently, with the foundation construction of 12 units being fully rolled out, the 200 KTA MTBE (methyl tert butyl ether) project in Algeria jointly EPC contracted by Guangzhou Engineering Company and China Technology Import and Export Group Co., Ltd. entered the peak period of civil works.

The project is located in the Arzew Oil Industrial Park in Oran, a city in western Algerian. Since the construction was started in June last year, in the face of a variety of complex factors, the Company on one hand strongly pushed ahead the progress of unit design work of the plant area, utilities and off-site facilities, and on the other hand, dispatched management personnel to the site, to implement the preparatory work of the temporary water supply, power supply, and container houses entering the site for construction, actively consulted with the owner on various matters, and urged the personnel of local construction companies such as GCB to enter the site.

After the start of the civil works of the project, the Company organized the all specialties to launch the “100-day action” for the remaining deliverables. The civil specialty concentrated manpower and worked overtime, issued the foundation drawings for all main units with assured quality, and obtained approval by the local national construction technology supervision bureau, providing powerful support for the full acceleration of the civil works of the project.
